Klean Kanteens come in sizes to meet the needs of the entire family. The 12 and 18-ounce containers are designed specifically for kids. In bottles designed for small hands, the 12 and 18 ounce bottles are available with sippy cup lid adapters along with the other sports cap options, and weigh just 6 and 8 ounces respectively. Adult sized 27 and 40 ounce Kanteens weigh just 8 and 11 ounces respectively, and are available with a choice polypropylene or steel caps. The openings are large enough to fit ice cubes, and the slim bottle design fits in most cup and bottle holders.
Klean Kanteen water bottles are available with a variety of sports caps made with non-leaching polypropylene #5 or stainless steel. The sport, flat, and loop caps are interchangeable and fit all 12-, 18-, 27-, and 40-ounce stainless steel bottles securely. The Poly Sports Cap has a push release valve allowing you to drink on the go. The Flat Caps, available in polypropylene or stainless steel twist on and off securely. The Loop Caps, available in polypropylene or stainless steel, twist on and off securely, and have a top loop for easy attachment. The polypropylene #5 caps have no known leaching characteristics, and are softer on the teeth and easy to drink from. However, if you would rather avoid plastic altogether, the stainless steel caps are a great option.

Why is the sports cap made of plastic and not stainless steel?
Your teeth. Klean Kanteen chose polypropylene #5 because it has no known leaching characteristics and is softer if you hit a bump on the trail. If you'd rather avoid plastic altogether, a stainless steel screw-on lid is available as an accessory.
Can I put hot liquids in my Klean Kanteen?
No. Klean Kanteen bottles are single walled and not for use with hot liquids. Warm beverages can be used at personal comfort level. The single-walled construction allows for more volume and the option to put your Kanteen on a flame.
Can I put my Kanteen in the freezer?
We do not recommend it and it will void the one-year warranty against manufacturer defects.
Can I put my Kanteen on a stove?
In a pinch, the Kanteen can be placed on fire or a stove. Beware not to melt the plastic lid or burn yourself.

I am impressed with the quality of these bottles and don't have any complaints. The only strange thing is that when the fluid level is just right, and you tip the bottle down too fast, the fluid tends to splash back at you. This is with the 27oz model.

I bought this bottle so I can carry it to school. In it I keep a protein shake. I have class after class and can't get food in between, so this keeps me alive lol. The product is great, my shakes taste like I'm drinking them out of a glass cup... no metalic taste at all. The screw cap is good too, nothing leaks out so I trust it in my backpack with all my books. Washing also takes a few seconds, I just rinse it through without soap, I guess it depends on what you put into it.

the kleen kanteen is supposed to be one of the better stainless steel bottles to buy
however the ones i ordered all came dinged and marked and the lids squeek throughout turning and don't seem to sit tightly even though they are following the "treads" in the cap properly. Some of these defects may be due to shipping. Overall the mouthsize is good, it allows ice cubes in but is not so big you spill out like the larger mouth bottles and it does keep fluids cold. You may want a cooler bag for it in the summer as it will sweat (naturally).

I have been using this Kanteen for over a month and I love it. I have two caps one that it came with the poly loop and the other with the popup. I like the popup because it is easier to drink out of. I think I will have to order the sling to carry it around in.

The Klean Kanteen 40 oz. stainless steel water bottle is an excellent choice for those who want to make sure their water bottle is safe. I switched to the Klean Kanteen from a hard plastic bottle and have been totally satisfied. The bottle is easy to maintain. It doesn't affect the taste of water. It is incredibly durable. I would recommend getting a sleeve for the bottle to protect it from denting as denting is the only drawback to this bottle. If you drop it, it will dent and if you get enough dents in it, you will significantly affect the capacity of the bottle and it won't sit evenly.
