This is my fourth stainless water bottle, and I still haven't found one that I would purchase again. I have tried Klean Kanteen (lost it), Nathan (broke it), this element bottle (untrustworthy cap), and some other off-brand KK knock-off (leaky). So far, the Klean Kanteen has been the best of the bunch. I feel that with this cap design, I may as well be toting around my water in a cup. I have spilled and accidentally opened the cap on this bottle more times than I would like to admit. I need more spill-proofing than this bottle provides. Also, the pointy hinge pin slides out of place and frequently needs to be pushed back into place.

The first time I used this bottle, I had the same issue as the other reviewer (it leaked a bit). I checked the lid, and it turned out that the rubber ring wasn't totally in place. It took me all of 10 seconds to figure that out and to push the ring all the way into the groove. Once the ring was in place, it worked perfectly. I absolutely love the lid. The design totally makes sense, and it's nice that there's a lock on it so I can throw the bottle into my backpack with my laptop and not worry about it. My husband is envious, so I'm buying another one for him.

I was greatly disappointed the first time I used my newly purchased Element 304 stainless steel water bottle. The easy to use sports top sold me on buying this product but the seal does not hold water. I had the top on tight and after one tilt of the bottle, water was dripping down the side of the bottle. So I tried the second bottle of the two I purchased and much to my dismay, the same thing happened. Now I have two usless sports bottles not worth the cost of returning. What a shame. I am sorry to say that I would never tell anyone to purchase this product because it's useless for its sole purpose.

I bought this after I got fed up with my regular 1L Sigg bottle "sweating" in the summer months. On the plus side; keeps cold water cool for a good 45-60 minutes without any noticeable condensation (I live in NC). Works even better/longer if you throw a couple ice cubes in there. All the usual pluses of the Sigg in terms of ruggedness, toughness (takes a ding/dent or two but no leks, splits etc). On the down side, if you put tap/room temp water in and put it in the fridge it takes a long while to cool down due to insulation. Don't have a problem with the weight of it like some others. Haven't tried it with warm liquids - more than happy with my contigo coffee cup, but would imagine the openinn may cause problems with very hot liquids. Overall happy with the insulated Sigg, especially for the price compared to the $22-25 being charged in some stores.

The bottle is almost 3x heavier (11.4 vs 4 oz) than most comparable sized non-insulated Sigg bottles. The added weight doesn't seem to help too much with insulation. It stays a bit colder than the other bottles, but not too much. It is a good non-plastic option for road trips.

The bottle is advertised as Hot & Cool, and it does as much quite well. My problem is that if you do want to use it for hot beverages, which is the main reason I bought it, you can't drink from the bottle without burning your mouth because the steel ring making up the mouth of the bottle heats up like crazy. I might send it back, but I suppose having an extra water bottle around is useful.

I use this bottle everyday to drink cold water at work or on the go. It keeps ice water cold for several hours - even if you leave it in the car for a little while. I love the fact that it doesn't "sweat" like other stainless/aluminum bottles. Plus it fits in any cupholder or backpack bottle sleeve.

I bought my SIGG about a year ago from a well known bookstore in Portland, OR called "Powell's". I love the design and the reusable aspect of my SIGG and I use it all the time, but I don't know why people say it keeps their water cool for hours and doesn't sweat. I didn't experience much sweating while I had it in the states, but I recently moved to South Korea where the temperature is very different than that of Oregon: it's very humid and hot here. My SIGG know sweat like crazy and the water goes cold rather fast. Not sure if it's a climate issue but it's definitely a bummer since SIGGs are advertised as "no sweating" reusable bottles.

 "Perfect water bottle." 2009-09-29

I've been searching for years for the perfect water bottle. I'm very picky. I knew just what I wanted in a water bottle and these fit the bill. I'm also lazy and unscrewing and screwing a cap on an off everytime I want a drink is unacceptable. Bought two of these and was so pleased I bought two more. They're beautiful, sturdy, and don't have the lining that we now hear also leaks chemicals into the water like some other water metal bottles. Personally, I don't like the sipper bottles cause it's harder to get a good mouth full w/ them. These have a nice wide opening and another to allow air in, so all you need is to put to your mouth and tip up to get a good mouth full of drink. They have a handy push button that pops open the spring loaded top in a flash for a quick drink. The top keeps the mouth piece clean between drinking and has a flip bar to keep it locked when you don't want it to accidently open. These are very sturdy. I put one in the freezer only planning to leave it there for about 15 minutes to cool down my drink, got invited to go somewhere and forgot about it. Didn't get back to take it out of the freezer until 10 hrs later. I was sure the bottle would be ruined, but it was fine. Only thing happened was a fine hair-line crack on the outer cap that doesn't interfer w/ the functioning of the bottle and can barely be seen. I simply reinforced w/ a tiny bit of super glue and it's fine. I've seen Sigg bottles that were put in the freezer and they weren't a pretty sight afterward - distorted and unuseable. Also accidently left one on the bumber of the truck after fishing. It came off on the freeway at 70+ mph and my husband actually saw it bouncing behind. We went back and picked it up. It had the insulating sleeve about 3/4 of the way up it. It received a few scratches, but no dents and the cap didn't break! Now that's one tough bottle!!! Although not insulated, I just used a generic insulating sleeve they sell for bottles at my local market and it keeps things cold for hours. As you can see, I'm really tough on my water bottles and I don't have to worry w/ this one. They're very tough and we take them everywhere. Don't easily dent like the aluminum bottles. Don't add any funny taste to your drinks even the acidic ones. As long as you make sure the inner ring is in place and flip the locking bar up when needed, they never ever leak. They're great to smuggle in drinks to ball parks or movies (ticket prices are bad enough). Paint is also holding up well and they are still beautiful. I bought two blue and two red. You won't be sorry if you buy these. Well worth the money.

I bought 2 of these bottles, one for my daughter, who hikes with me, an one for myself. The lid design is the best I've seen. Easy to drink from and easy to pour some out for my Yorkie who also hikes with us. Mine is about a year old, has about 100 miles on it, is a little dented and the lid has a crack from dropping it, but it still does not leak. I have one recommendation, it needs some kind of carrying device. I bought a plastic bottle with an insulated wrap around carrier and threw the bottle away. It works ok but the fit isn't real good and the bottle falls out a lot. The reason for the dents and cracked top. I would still highly recommend this product. It fits well into a back pack or fanny pack or just carry in your hand.

THE BEST stainless steel water bottle!!!!! I looked long and hard for one with these specifications. The top pops up easily with the thumb, and latches securely. It even has a lock to keep the latch closed to avoid accidental opening. Unlike the cheaper ones sold in stores, this top is built to last! I like the shape with the curve in the middle for holding it more easily, and I found a insulated holder to fit it. At 25 ounces it's also the largest ss bottle I could find without a sports top or screw top - hate those things!!! All in all, it's a GREAT bottle!!!!

The Sigg thermos is a good investment if you like your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold. It does cut some nice features out to maintain the simplistic design (such as a handle), but like I said, it does it's main job very well.



If you like a simple/sophisticated design then you will enjoy this thermos. I've used my red thermos daily for almost a month and it hold up to a liter. It does appear that the outer shell can scratch fairly easy and I find myself treating it gingerly, but that is the trade off for a candy apple red exterior.



The thermos is double-walled and vaccuum sealed as well. If you never owned a thermos before this one will blow your mind with how well it keeps things hot or cold.



I make smoothies in the morning, and by the end of the work day, there are still ice crystals inside. I'm not saying it is exactly the same as 8am when I make it, but it's pretty darn close. I like to joke around by saying this thermos "is like a mini refrigerator." I am happy with my purchase for $35.

I like the Sigg collection and bought in total 6 thermos and 4 ordinary ones.

However to my dismay, the thermos are made in China.

I could hardly accept the fact @@

Had I known this, I would buy Zojirushi :(

My daughter and I love the Kleen Kanteen and the Avent spouts - but she (12 months) has broken 4! of the black adapter rings in 7 months. These cost $4 to replace (found them locally, so no shipping charge). They have all broken when she has dropped them from her high chair onto a LINEOLEUM floor and it lands upside-down. They are not breaking due to her super-infant strength or a 4-story fall or landing on concrete.



Has anyone tried the Oggi isip stainless sippies? They are much cheaper. I can't tell if it also accepts the Avent spout. If it does, it might have the same problem with the adapter breaking.



I have taped up our most recent adapter with electrical tape in the hopes that it will provide some stability and this one won't break.



Otherwise - its great. No leaks if properly assembled, and you can put a beer can coozie on it to keep cool for longer.

Excellent product with a few minor flaws. First, this is a great alternative to plastic cups and the longevity of the product makes the price worthwhile. After its life as a sippy cup, you can purchase a screw on cap and either an adult or a child will be able to use this bottle and continue its use. I purchased two bottles for my 1 yr old son (and a few larger bottles for the parents, so that my son could feel like he's drinking out of a bottle just like Mommy's and Daddy's). Overall, we've had a pretty successful experience with it.



The Drawbacks:



The main drawback was that the black ring cracked when my son dropped the bottle. However, Klean Kanteen, regardless of where you purchased the bottle, will replace parts free of charge (including free shipping) if something like that happens. The replacement ring cracked also when he dropped it another time. Klean Kanteen sent me TWO more rings and extra inserts and spouts, again at no charge to me. In addition, I had the replacement parts w/in days! So far, the replacement rings have not cracked at all, even when my son drops / throws the bottle to the floor.



The second drawback: when the bottle dropped, it dented, altho that dent is barely noticeable.







The great things about this bottle:



1. It does NOT leak for us at all! However, we are very certain to make sure all parts are tightly fitting together! If they are, no leaking!



2. You can use the white AVENT rings (that go around the baby bottles) and you can easily purchase more AVENT spouts (that come with AVENT sippy cups) and attach those to the bottle for extra caps/spouts. Event AVENT nipples work!



3. AVENT domes fit around the bottle! That's great if you want to protect the spout during travel.



4. You can purchase other Klean Kanteen accessories for this if you like: carrying case, etc



5. It's eco-friendly!



6. It has a life long after your child will outgrow his sippy cup needs. Either an adult or a child / teen could use this afterwards. All you need is a screw in cap which you could easily purchase locally or online.



7. The stainless steel used is food grade and will not impart taste to the liquid inside the bottle.



8. The colors are practically scratch resistant! You have to try VERY hard to scratch the coating off these bottles!



9. The color choices are beautiful! I get compliments on my son's bottles and my bottle all the time! We have blue and orange for my son, and blue and black for the parents. The colors are fabulous, glossy and stunning. The orange is not as bright as I had expected, but it's still very nice.



10. Great size for a child. Easy for my 13 month old to hold and drink out of.



11. My current rings have not cracked.



12. Excellent (5 STAR) customer service. I cannot say enough things about this company!



I highly recommend this product. It's not without flaws, but Klean Kanteen is so awesome to work with that I can forgive any mishaps!

I bought an OGGI aluminum water bottle 10months ago and found corrosion setting in on the bottom. It is totally unusable and I'm very disappointed in it's very short lifespan. My sister had hers for an even shorter time when she noticed the whole bottom was rusted on the inside. I'll never buy this product again and I'm suggesting to look inside the bottle periodically.

I agree with the reviews by DD and MHK - a friend from the West Coast raves about these and bought me one last week. When I filled it with filtered water from a Brita pitcher, it tasted terrible. In addition, I got a weird burning sensation from the mouth piece that lingered for an hour or so. I washed it out twice with soap, and it was still the same, a foul taste to the water and a burning feeling on the lips. It also dented easily, it seems to be made of thin drink can aluminum and probably won't last long in daily use. The cap is worthless - hard to open with one hand, or even two, and it leaks no matter how tight you seal it. The carabinier clip on the cap (apparently from the Dollar Store) is the final cheap and nasty touch. I give it 1 star because there isn't a zero star rating.

I received this as a gift but would not buy one myself since, as the other reviewer already mentioned, the screw cap does not go back on easily, and on top of that the lid does not make a seal and thus the water bottle leaks, which is not very useful in a water bottle.

I bought this bottle with the hopes of refilling it daily and taking it with me in my vehicle. I noticed right away that it was difficult to get the lid to screw back on the bottle. The first time I opened the bottle, water spilled all over my lap, and the bottle wasn't tipped at all. I thought it must've been user error, so I tried again to screw the lid back on...not an easy task, especially while driving. I opened the bottle again, it dripped all over me. That night, my husband told me the same thing happened with his silver Oggi bottle. I would not recommend this product
