Great idea on paper, not dishwasher safe, very hard to keep the spot and under cap area clean. Whistles when you drink from it, too. Very disappointed in this product.

Great improvement on original sport cap, which made a really annoying sound when used....turned a lot of heads in meetings at work! This new cap has a great loop on it for easy carrying and the valve flows MUCH better and does not make any annoying sounds.

I have the original sport cap, but I disliked the way it loudly squeaked. It also did not allow very much water to come out of the spout, so I could not use it while working out. This new cap is one million times better! The water flows out very quickly and easily, and it is practically silent. I can easily use my water bottle while working out without spilling on myself. I really think this cap is allowing me to drink more water just because it is so easy to drink now! Highly recommended!

Was very frustrated with the low-flow, high noise of the old cap (usually just unscrewed the whole thing and drank from the bottle that way). This does provide much better water flow and make less weird squeaky noises (although still a little). A much needed improvement, much happier with this than the older style.

So after ordering this Sport Cap online (since my local REI store did not carry it) I proceeded to test it out, only to find that it made a squeaking/whistling sound when i lifted it up to drink. It can be quite annoying, especially when you are using it in a quiet work environment.
I inspected the cap and discovered that the problem was caused by a clear plastic piece that allows air to flow through. I took that part out and tried drinking and there was no noise, but when you lift it up high enough, water does spill through.
Thus, my solution was to flip the plastic "blocker" around and put the little nub on the inner part of the cap while having the circular flap rest on the exterior top of the cap (you need to use your hand and a pen or something to jam it back in there). This eliminates the squeaking noise and still keeps the water from spilling out. You have to press the plastic part down so it forms a sort of suction and be careful the first time you sip.
Besides that, this seems to be a good solution for me since I can't stand the squeaking sound and it sounds ridiculous when I'm at work. Good luck to the rest of you.
