This cap has worked fine for me. Other than typical sounds of drinking, I don't notice any "strange" problems with noises or leaks. The label that came on the top indicates that it is not "leak proof". I just swap out tops to suit the situation. I'll probably wind up just drinking from the bottle directly but that is just because I drink a lot of water at a time. I did find that I can slip the dust cap from the sport cap through the loop in the other twist off cap to keep them both handy. Suits me fine. I've been carrying around rather used plastic bottles for refills as needed.

I got the Klean Kanteen Sport Cap because for the Klean Kanteen water bottles that I got from LLBean, you had to unscrew the cap and drink from the bottle itself and the mouth of the bottle is wide. The sports cap answers that problem and is great in every respect except it leaks no matter how tightly I screw it on. If it falls on its side in my pack it leaks inside the pack. Also, it makes a whistling noise when you drink from it. I saw a suggestion that it whistles when the cap is screwed on too tight. But why would I want to loosen it up when it leaks? Still, it allows me to drink from the bottle without unscrewing the cap and that's a plus.

This cap is pretty much better than the original in every single way. It allows much better liquid flow, much more quiet, and has a finger loophole so you can hold it very easily. If you use this bottle at the gym, it's pretty much essential!

The new Klean Kanteen Sports Caps work much better than the old ones, and it's nice to have the carrying loops too. I have eight Klean Kanteen bottles and each one has a new Sports Cap!

I don't know how I made it all these years with out this handy gadget ? Makes drinking out of a bottle a very pleasant experience. NO more trying to suck the bottom out of a pool any more, with it's built in air valve the water flows freely and as fast as you want. Plus it is well made and should last a long time.
