I own a 40 oz. bottle with a steel flat cap. Here are my remarks after six months of almost daily use :
1) Generally speaking, a good buy. No after taste, good sealing, and keeps well when protected.
2) Would have been happier with a larger bottle - I think that many customers would enjoy a 1.5 liter bottle.
3) Although the company specifically advises against freezing the bottle (doing so voids the one-year warranty), I fill the bottle a quarter full and put it in the freezer overnight, with the lid placed (not screwed in) on top. After this freezes, I fill the remainder with water. Never had a problem of deformation with this.
4) When you screw the cap on, it seems as though only the last tenth of a turn really seals the bottle - this seems a bit inconvenient, but hasn't been problematic.
5) Remember that the quality of the water you put in is a lot more important than the container.

I bought this bottle due to the health concerns of using plastic. I use it at work and at the gym. I drink form the bottle while running and the mouth of the bottle is so large that it splashes a bit. I am considering getting the sports cap for this reason. All and all I am happy with the product.

Tall and thin, and I love the stainless steel. I got the stainless cap as well. It clinks when you close it (due to the metal top hitting metal bottle), but I don't mind that. And the bottom of the cap is closed (if that makes sense) so it is great when I want to shake the bottle to mix powder or something in the water -- it doesn't get into the lid.

I've been waiting to get one of these bottles for years!!! And amazon has made it easy to find. I have the 18oz with the steel loop cap and I carry it with me everywhere. Sometimes I wish it was larger for when I go to play some sports and need more water on hand, but for daily use when you're able to fill up its great.

My family has used Klean Kanteens for years - taken them to work, school, and hiking. They don't leak and can stand up to being dropped. The mouth is large enough to fill the bottle with ice, and the water stays cool through hours of hiking (even in very hot climates). Condensation will appear on the outside, but that's to be expected. Hard to improve on this. They are the best.
